Before Our Collaboration
A well-established shopping center in the small town of Frankston, Victoria, on the other side of the world, in Australia, was undergoing renovation works for a few months. The owner sought to enhance the space with more low-maintenance decor and a striking feature that could evoke a stop-and-stare response from shoppers.
After creating a comfortable waiting area for shoppers, the team needed to ensure the aesthetics complemented the busy retail environment. Besides this, they were intent on facilitating a better shopping experience by presenting a natural display that soothes the mind.
The Problem
Given the high foot traffic of the space due for decorating, the Karingal Hub shopping center needed a quick solution to maintain its appearance without frequent upkeep, effort, or ongoing expenses.
Ideally, the team wanted the decor piece to be visually striking and durable enough to positively contribute to the shopping experience. The owner had a few talks with the team to decide on the right approach and they unanimously agreed that the space was in dire need of greenery.
But since they didn’t want to just lay a few potted plants around, they went to Google and Instagram to find inspiration. A few days later, they decided to use artificial green wall panels and contacted our team for recommendations.
During the Process
Our team worked closely with Karingal Hub to develop a customized solution that closely aligned with their vision. We carefully selected the panels and the design elements to ensure the space gets the durability, aesthetic appeal, and ease of installation it needs and deserves.
The process began with a consultation with our team, where we put our heads together and combed through our faux green wall collection to find a few panels that could do the job.
We considered the wall measurements and the overall atmosphere of the space and recommended the Rustic Botanical Lavender Artificial Green Wall. Since the client (and anyone else) can use the virtual try-on for the panel, they determined it was the right choice for the space.
When we received the approval, we got straight to work.
The Solution
To meet the client’s needs, we installed 16 panels of our 40” x 40” Rustic Botanical Lavender faux green wall.
This combination of fauxliege provides the lush, vibrant look of real plants that makes the space seem more natural, but also eliminates the hassle of maintenance.
Each Tropical Fern panel featured custom, extra-dense imitation foliage attached to a sturdy backing that allowed easy customization to fit any space. The panels create the illusion of a real living wall, emulating the look of foliage growing out of the wall.
The installation was seamless and our team didn’t run into any problems, as we didn’t need to cut or shape the panels to fit. To install the panels on the wall, we only needed a drill, nails, and a hammer. A key advantage of this installation was that the faux green wall panels were fire-tested to standards and achieved a superior fire performance with a 0 flame spread rating. This aspect is crucial for a commercial space like the Karingal Hub.
After the Process
The final result, like most artificial vertical garden transformations, was a visually striking, maintenance-free green feature that both looks beautiful and functionally contributes to a utilitarian space.
The new breakout space looks unlike what shoppers have seen and provides a refreshing and relaxing environment for everyone passing through.
The client and team were satisfied with the transformation and admired how the greenery helped soften the surroundings and the harsh lines in the space.
