The Client Challenge

Outside, there was a glaring contrast, as guests arriving or leaving through the parking lot were met by a plain, grey concrete wall that felt completely out of place.

“It just felt cold and disconnected,” Henry said. And the hotel team knew that this part of the property was telling the wrong story, so they set out to change that. 

Henry then began searching online for alternatives that could bring greenery to the space in the most hands-off way possible. That’s when he found our website, browsed our collections, and reached out to our design team to see if an artificial green wall could be his answer  

The Design Objective

The hotel team was on the same page from the beginning - they didn’t want something over the top. Instead, they wanted harmony. 

The challenge was to make the harsh wall feel like a natural extension of the green surroundings without adding more chores to the maintenance list. The most important part of this job was to cover the concrete and make guests feel welcome before they set foot inside. 

What Henry wanted was for visitors to pause and wonder if what they’re looking at is real. 

The Solution

After some deliberation and a few suggestions from our team, we came up with a stunning, unique, and practical solution. 

Our design consultants discussed the desired outcome, showed the client a few different options, and advised him to use a custom-curated mix of our Mixed Boxwood Hedge Panels, Luxury Green Meadows Panels, and Luxury Lavender Fields Panels. 

This is a combination our team hadn’t worked with before, but we could see the potential unfolding for this space. Plus, it had everything Henry wanted: rich greenery, lifelike textures, and enough visual interest to catch guests’ eyes without overwhelming them. 

During our initial conversations, we focused on understanding the site’s challenges: fixed elements like bike racks, paver flooring, and full sun exposure. One of these issues was solved immediately by the use of UV-resistant panels designed to stay vibrant outdoors with no maintenance. 

For the rest, our team brainstormed and moved strategically. 

Installation Approach

The Designer Plants team and the professional installers came up with a plan using the three artificial green wall panels: 

• We used the Mixed Boxwood Hedge Panels to form the dense, structured base later and serve as a rich backdrop
• Then, we added the Green Meadows Vertical Garden Panels for a natural, slightly wild feel to avoid a flat look 
• Finally, we integrated the Luxury Lavender Fields Panels to soften the edges and serve as a dynamic highlight

The project took just two weeks. 

In Week 1, the team measured the wall, checked sunlight exposure at different times of the day, and designed a layout to fit around the bike racks and the paver flooring. 

In Week 2, they installed the panels, layered them to blend colors and textures, and created a masterpiece.

The Result

Once it was finished, even with the bike racks and the signage in front, the eye naturally follows the curves. This turns what could have been a plain artificial green wall surface into an immersive design feature that guests immediately notice and remember. 

The textures naturally blend with the hotel’s real outdoor greenery and tie the entire outdoor space together. And for the staff: not an extra chore in sight. 

In the end, Henry was ecstatic and shared that: “The transformation of our hotel’s parking wall has exceeded all my expectations.
