The Client Challenge

This client had a solid vision in mind before they started looking for ways to materialize it. The first issue they sought to solve was the height of the fence. While it covered the lion’s share of their yard, the fence wasn’t tall enough to give them full privacy, which began bothering them more with each passing month.

After combing over a few choices - a new fence, a metal extension, tall trees, etc., the client found something accessible - an artificial green wall.

The Design Objective

They reached out to our team, asked us a few questions about our faux foliage, and shared information about the desired project. They also sent us a few photos so we can see what they were talking about. This is exactly how you should approach any supplier hired to help you with a design project.

We decided that the best artificial vertical garden for this job was our Ultra Luxury Lush Spring Sensation Artificial Vertical Garden. Then, we got to work.

The Solution

For this project, the client’s main objective was to enhance their pool area. The existing colorbond fence was functional but visually unappealing. Plus, it wasn’t a good privacy screen.

That had to change.

To address these concerns, the client thought to use artificial green wall panels to cover the fence and use them as extensions.

Installation Approach

First, to protect the fence and support the panels, the installers added vertical wooden posts. They secured the posts along the length of the fence, ensuring they were evenly spaced and aligned.

Then, they added horizontal beams at the top that extended above the fence to achieve the desired height.

With the timber framework in place, the installers positioned the faux green wall panels against the wooden beams. They then used a drill, just like we suggest in our installation guide, to attach the panels to the beams. The team started by installing the panels at the top to form the extension. They then made their way down the fence until it was completely covered in green.

Another interesting aspect of this project was that the client wanted to cover the door leading to the pool area to achieve a cohesive look. To do so, the team fitted custom faux green wall panels onto the door. Since these panels are separate from those on the fence, i.e. they needed to be cut to the size of the door, meaning that they needed very careful measurement beforehand.

The Result

With the installation of the faux green wall, the client’s pool area became a little patch of paradise. The faux green wall hides the previous unattractive metal appearance, while the fence itself is taller and provides more privacy and security.

The door, also covered in artificial vertical garden panels, blends into this new design. When closed, it virtually disappears into the green wall and creates an illusion and an unexpected feature.
