Before Our Collaboration
A high-end bar and cocktail venue in South Yarra, Australia, was at the end of its tethers concerning the tired decorations.
After purchasing a brand-new building for refurbishment, the team wanted to create a luxurious space where people could socialize in style. After all, the atmosphere is a foundational element of a good cocktail bar set to meet and exceed expectations.
The owner and the employees envisioned a vibrant setting that would enhance the guest experience and be highly shareable on social media.
The Problem
When discussing the visual appearance of the space, the team was very well-aligned. The client wanted to incorporate greenery to turn their dull reception and gathering areas into Instagram-worthy spots guests would love to share.
Their main concerns were:
-
Installing rich greenery panels that aren’t too high-maintenance
-
Creating a selfie photo wall to encourage social media sharing and engagement
-
Ensuring plant durability that can withstand guests leaning on it or splashing drinks
-
Completing the project within a tight deadline so they can open ahead of the holidays
The bar team juggled a few ideas before deciding to forgo real living walls and use artificial vertical garden panels. Then, it was time to consult Google and find a solution for the issue.
During the Process
The Australian cocktail bar had a clear vision, but the team lacked direction and had some trouble finding the right products for the space.
They knew they wanted the products to emulate and promote the vibrant energy pulsating through the establishment. So, when they came across our green wall collection, they found a few contenders that could do the job well.
The client then contacted our team, shared their vision, and asked for bespoke advice and suggestions. We looked over a few photos of the space, considered the wall measurements, and recommended the Ultra-Luxury Lush Spring Artificial Vertical Garden for the walls and the Artificial Rose Clover Topiary Balls for the corners.
The Solution
Before we got to work, we envisioned the outcome, as this is the easiest way to understand where we’re going and how we can get there. We imagined a setting that felt like an escape—a place where guests can relax, connect, and be surrounded by greenery that doesn’t trigger allergies, even in the heart of the city.
We started with the walls. With the measurements on hand, we cut the panels to size and covered various walls. Soon enough, the bar looked like it was growing greenery from all sides.

The fauxliege created a depth of movement and prevented the space from looking flat.
We interlinked the panels and made sure the join lines were invisible and the transition was seamless. The faux vertical garden panels on the sundeck framed the large windows and benefited from the natural light highlighting its textures and colors throughout the day.
The client then positioned intricate white teardrop-shaped hanging swings across from the panels and overlooking the windows. The patterns contrasted beautifully with the greenery and easily became a statement feature.
We also wanted to conceal a few unsightly features on the ceiling and wrap the same artificial green panels around the concrete pillars. This hid all the visible cracks and discoloration and blended into the panels on the upright walls. Plus, it softened the industrial elements of the space and made it look more enclosed, like a hidden garden.

But the project didn’t stop at the interior.
In the end, the client supplied us with a tall topiary pot where we “planted” our Artificial Rose Clover Topiary Balls. We placed them in the corners outside the bar to greet the guests and took full advantage of their UV resistant properties.

After the Process
The project was nothing short of stunning and exceeded all the expectations the client had.
With a budget of approximately $15,000, we managed to successfully complete the project within the agreed-upon timeframe.
The client was impressed with the outcome and highlighted the life-like appearance of the artificial greenery. The rapid turnaround allowed them to showcase the refurbished venue just in time for the holiday season and give guests a unique establishment to frequent.
Next Steps
Artificial green walls have gained popularity in commercial spaces in recent years, finding their place in hotels, restaurants, bars, stores, and malls.
With the myriad of benefits faux vertical gardens offer businesses, we’re excited to see more and more owners embracing this new way of decorating. Fake green walls are a cost-effective, durable, maintenance-free, and beautiful approach to sprucing up commercial establishments and can pack a much bigger punch than expected.
