How a Client Improved the Office with Artificial Green Walls and Hanging Plants

A financial planning firm was planning to undertake an end-of-the-year project that was leagues different than what they’d done the previous years - revamp their office space.

Before & After Transformation

This decision didn’t come lightly and was voted on by most of their staff some time ago. The employees felt their space had to reflect the values they bring to their clients, like stability, growth, and a sense of trust.

At first, their goal was to create a “green finance feel” by bringing the outdoors in. But, they also wanted to change the tired warehouse-style space into a welcoming environment that staff and clients alike could enjoy.

The result was a complete transformation:

  • The once-tired office now has a vibrant, professional, and balanced aesthetic.
  • The stairwell, once a purely functional feature, is now a statement centerpiece.
  • Clients entering the office can sense the refreshing energy that aligns with the firm
  • The installation requires no ongoing maintenance for any of the employees

The Client Challenge

The initial space, while serviceable, lacked character. The staff had tried using natural plants near the water features in the past, but due to the limited natural light and ongoing maintenance requirements they couldn’t keep up with, the greenery didn’t last.

Their biggest challenges were:

  • A tired interior that needed a complete visual refresh.
  • Poor light conditions that made live plants unsustainable.
  • High foot traffic requiring a durable, maintenance-free solution.
  • Budget-conscious needs with a set spend of less than $6,000.

The client also didn’t want just another green wall. In fact, they wanted layered greenery, vibrant floral details, and pops of color that would energize the space, but without compromising professionalism.

The Design Objective

They searched around for a long-lasting, professional, and visually arresting solution for their problem. After some Googling, they found our site and combed through our comprehensive collection of artificial plants

After some deliberation and a free consultation with our design team, the clients opted for a mix of artificial green walls and faux hanging plants

The Solution

From the start, this project was a fully professional installation

Our design team worked with the client to identify key focal areas like the staircase, the reception zone, and seating spaces. This is where we determined that the greenery would have the most impact and be visible.

The client, guided by our recommendations, curated a mix of products to add texture and depth. We used two types of artificial vertical gardens to form the foundation: the Tropical Forest Artificial Vertical Garden and the Ultra Luxury Amazon Jungle Vertical Garden.

To add some softness, we added artificial hanging vines and garlands in yellow, purple, and star jasmine tones.

Installation Approach

We placed the planter boxes strategically throughout the office to extend the greenery beyond the walls and the staircase. Then, we draped floral window boxes and bougainvillea baskets for more hints of color.

The client noted they wanted a sense of movement and surprise when customers entered the space, so we incorporated cascading greenery along the staircase and accented the installation with floral stems in pink and white bougainvillea.

The team completed the full installation quickly and without disrupting daily business operations.

The Result

The finished design is layered, vibrant, and unique to this client, which our team can attest to.

The panels create a lush and immersive backdrop, while the artificial hanging garlands introduce variations in tone and texture. The draping petunias, poinsettias, and bougainvillea baskets fill formerly bare zones with liveliness, seemingly overflowing from their planters.

Finally, the cascading greenery covers the staircase and pairs well with the oversized floor planters with tropical blooms.

Why Artificial Greenery Worked So Well

For commercial clients like these, the right design choices ensure spaces feel alive, inspiring, and welcoming, but without the ongoing upkeep that natural plants demand.

Practical Tips

- Identify key focal areas — such as staircases, reception zones, and seating spaces — before installation, as these are where greenery will have the most impact and visibility.

- Layer multiple product types (vertical gardens, hanging vines, garlands, and window box planters) to add texture, depth, and a sense of movement.

- Place planter boxes strategically throughout the space to extend the greenery beyond walls and staircases.
